Another Record Setting Day of Early Voting in Travis County

Jorge Sanhueza-Lyon/KUT

After crushing the previous record set in 2008 on day one of early voting, Travis County voters showed up in droves again on day two, busting even more turnout records along the way.

At this point in 2008, turnout was 9.65 percent.

In 2012, turnout was just 6.08 percent by the end of the second day.

If the volume stays steady, as it has in past elections, Travis County could be on track to see almost 400,000 votes cast by the time early voting ends next Friday.

Williamson County also saw around double the early votes on the second day of early voting.
